Get Help | Can I add electrolytes to the water in my BottlePro?

Yes you can, and these will not be filtered out.

Activated carbon and the other stages used in BottlePro are generally not effective at removing dissolved ions, including the electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, which are found in water. This is a good thing as any healthy minerals in the tap water source will be maintained, in addition to any added.

The primary reason for this is that activated carbon functions primarily through adsorption, a process where certain compounds stick to the activated carbon. While this works well for many organic molecules, dissolved ions like electrolytes don't interact strongly with the carbon, and therefore pass through the filter largely unaffected.
