5 stage filtration packed into a tiny filter

EcoPro Compact uses ultra-advanced 5-stage filtration technology with activated carbon.

The refill consists of an activated carbon disc and adsorbs chemicals, gases, metals and organics due to its microscopic structure and highly porous surface.

As the water passes through the filter, all contaminants are trapped by the activated carbon. The result is clean filtered water ready to drink.

Even though the filter is small, it is tested to be as effective as other filters in our range, the size of the filter just affects the capacity which is tested at 300L per filter cycle.

Refill duration

Water quality and filtering efficiency can only be guaranteed up to a usage capacity equivalent to 2 months. If you use the refill beyond 2 months, the filtering efficiency of substances will no longer meet our quality parameters. You should also bear in mind that activated carbon is a material of organic origin that can be a breeding ground for micro-organisms, which over time can lead to the proliferation of bacteria.

Use hot water only in the unfiltered filter position

If you haven’t used the filter in several days, let the filtered water run for 30 seconds

The old refill must be disposed of in the black bag because apart from being made of coconut shells (70%), it is also made up of other materials such as UHMW (30%) and silicone parts.

Each EcoPro Compact filter is designed to provide high-quality filtration for up to 2 months or a capacity of approximately 300 liters. To maintain the highest standards of water purity and taste, it is essential to replace the filter every 2 months, as the activated carbon efficiency decreases beyond this period.

Not at all. Despite its small footprint, the EcoPro Compact refill uses the same advanced 5-stage filtration technology found in our larger filters. It features a highly porous activated carbon disc that effectively adsorbs chlorine, heavy metals, microplastics, and organic contaminants. The only difference is the physical capacity, which is optimized for smaller households.

The activated carbon used in the refill is an organic material. Once it comes into contact with water, it can eventually become a breeding ground for micro-organisms. Replacing the filter every 2 months prevents bacterial proliferation and ensures that your drinking water remains safe and hygienic.

You should only use the filter with cold water. Hot water can damage the internal structure of the activated carbon disc and reduce its effectiveness. If you need hot water for washing up, simply switch the lever on your EcoPro Compact unit to the "unfiltered" position and use with hot water.

If you have been away or haven't used the filter for a few days, it is a good practice to let the filtered water run for about 30 seconds before drinking. This flushes the system and ensures that the water you consume is fresh and has been properly filtered through the carbon disc.

Used refills should be disposed of in the general waste (black bag). While the majority of the filter is made from sustainable coconut shells (70%), it also contains silicone parts and UHMW (30%) which are not currently recyclable in standard Maltese recycling streams. However, using these filters still saves hundreds of plastic bottles from landfills.
