Our range of adapters are used with mixers that are non-standard and each adapter will result in an M22 male thread ready for a TAPP Water filter to be attached.

Most mixers either do not need an adapter or only require the M24M22 adapter we include with the EcoPro and EcoPro Compact Starter packs - just check the guide to find out if your mixer needs an adapter.

Do I need an adapter?

Our filters are designed to fit over 95% of all faucets.EcoPro, EcoPro Compact, and Ultra come with a standard connector (F22) and an extra adapter for internal threads (M24). These two fittings work with most mixers in Malta and you can follow the steps below to check your mixer size.


If your faucet is in the 5% that need something different, don’t worry! We also offer an adapter service.

Which adapter is right for me?

As simple as 1,2,3 you can dind the right adapter by following these steps

Follow the steps

1) Unscrew

Unscrew the aerator from your faucet and take a close look at the threads to identify the type of aerator you have.

2) Is it Female or Male?

Female thread: Threads are on the inside of the aerator. You need a Female adapter (F)

Male thread: Has external threads on the outside of the aerator. You need a Male adapter (M)

Measure it

Compare the diameter of your aerator to a coin to figure out which adapter is right for you.

If your aerator is F22 or M24 then you do not need to buy an extra adapter, your starter pack contains everything you need.

How do I know if I need a special adapter for my Tappwater filter?

Our filter systems are designed to fit over 95% of all faucets in Malta. Every EcoPro and EcoPro Compact starter pack already includes a standard F22 connector and an M24 adapter, which covers most common mixers. You only need to purchase an additional adapter if your faucet has a non-standard size, such as an exceptionally small (M16/M18) or large (M28) thread.
How can I identify if my faucet has a Male or Female thread?

The simplest way is to unscrew your current aerator and look at the threads. If the threads are on the outside of the aerator, you have a Male thread; if they are on the inside, you have a Female thread. Knowing this is essential for selecting the correct adapter (labeled as 'M' for Male or 'F' for Female) to convert your tap to the required M22 thread.

A quick and easy method is to compare the removed aerator to common coins. For a more precise fit, you can measure the diameter across the threads. What is the "Universal Adapter" used for?

The Universal Adapter is designed for faucets that do not have any threads at all or have irregular shapes. It uses a secure clamp mechanism to attach to the end of the tap, providing the necessary M22 connection for the filter. This is a great "catch-all" solution for older or more decorative faucets that don't follow standard EU threading.
Is there a tool to help me remove my faucet aerator without scratching it?

es, we offer a specialized Faucet Aerator Key. This tool is designed to safely unscrew various types of aerators (including hidden or recessed ones) without damaging the chrome finish of your mixer. It is a highly recommended accessory for those with designer taps or aerators that have become stuck due to limescale.
