Get help | A collection of more complex mixers that TAPP water has been fitted to.

<Get Help>

Here we will collect a range of mixers that we have provided solutions for.

These are all mixers that we see in Malta for which we have provided a workable solution.

Problem 1:

The mixer is a standard fitting but the age of the mixer means the threads are worn so its difficult to get a good fitting.

Solution:

A single F22M22 adapter attaches easily to the mixer and gives a secure fitting for the TAPP.

Problem 2:

The mixer has a non standard size aerator. We used an M20XM22 after  a couple of attempts to correctly identify the size.

Problem 3:

The mixer is a standard M22 fitting so the TAPP screws directly on. However the cover that goes over the end of the mixer prevents the direct attachment of the TAPP.

Solution:

Use 3 F22M22 adapters joined together to lengthen the attachment.

Problem 4:

The mixer is a standard M22 fitting so the TAPP screws directly on. However the F22 adapter which works in these cases is not long enough. With 1 adapter there is no room to attach the TAPP.

Solution:

We used two F22Mxx adapters joined together for a great look and a longer adapter.

Problem 5:

Shower Fitting.

Solution:

A longer M24XM22 metal adapter. The EcoPro Compact fits the mixer very well. The EcoPro doe not fit this mixer as the "bulb" of the mixer is too close to the height of the filter unit.

Problem 6:

Aerator is removeable but smaller then standard size. This is on a boat tap.

Solution:

An M22XM22 adapter that is sized by using a 20c coin ontop of the aerator.

Problem 7:

Shower head type, aerator not removeable but end of shower head does remove and has a 1/2" fitting.

Solution:

A 1/2" to M22 adapter is used when the showerhead is removed. Both EcoPro and EcoPro Compact can be used.

Problem 8:

Shower head type, aerator removeable at end of shower head.

Solution:

A standard M24 to M22 adapter is used when the aerator is removed. Both EcoPro and EcoPro Compact can be used.

Problem 9:

Outside tap with 3/4" Fitting

Solution:

3/4" to M22 adapter resolves this issue

Problem 10:

Inside the mixer the threads are on the outside of the plastic to which the aerator is attached. But also the adapter needed to be longer.

Solution:

2 of the F22M22 adapters did the job. A smaller washer needs to be placed inside the white threads inside the mixer, in addition to a washer in each of the F22 adapters. Its quite difficult to attach the F22's individually, so important to attach the two F22's together first, tightly, and then screw in as one adapter into the mixer using the two washers as directed.

Problem 11:

Aerator with wide threads and quite small, not a metric size. The size was found to be 3/8" which is quite rare. The Adapter needed would be 3/8" to M22 - but this does not exist anywhere that we can source regular supply.

Solution:

We used a M3/8" to M1/2" adapter which as a hex nut in the middle which needed grinding down so that it fitted inside the mixer and then we attached a F1/2" to M22 adapter. The slightly longer M1/2" threads cut also be made shorter as marked in the photo.

Problem 12:

The aerator seems not to detach, bubbler keys do not work, however the aerator does unscrew, revealing threads on the outside which are recessed inside the mixer. The fitting is a standard M22 fitting so the TAPP screws directly on. However the recess means that 3 F22M22 adapters are used to make the fitting longer.

Problem 13:

It was impossible to remove the aerator from the end of this mixer even using bubbler keys.

Solution:

The Universal Adapter is used in these cases with a slicone sleeve over the end of the mixer. I some cases the universal adapter is heated with boiling water before fitting to make it easier to attach. The universal adapter can be used with either EcoPro or EcoPro Compact.
